Contributions to the Kyle Fundytus Scholarship

Although our Hockey Community seems big, when something tragic happens within it, it affects all of us.
On November 13, 2011, Kyle Fundytus of Edmonton, tragically passed away at the age of 16 years. Fundytus was playing for the South Side Athletic Club’s (SSAC) Don Wheaton Midget AA team at the Clareview Arena when he was struck in the neck by the puck during a hockey game against the Maple Leaf Athletic Club (MLAC) Saturday afternoon. On the following Sunday he passed away due to the injury he sustained.
Hawks Athletic Club , Northwest Zone and Whitemud West are working together and contributing $1000.00 to the SSAC Kyle Fundytus Memorial Scholarship fund in the new year.
From the SSAC’s website : The ongoing support of the entire hockey community has been tremendous following the tragic loss of one of our own. Questions regarding support for the family of Kyle Fundytus continue to come in and as such a fund for the family has been established to help with upcoming expenses. Should you wish to help out, donations can be made to:
SSAC Kyle Fundytus Memorial Scholarship
4250 - 91A Street
Edmonton, AB T6E 5V2
Expressions of sympathy can be forwarded to the family via the website,
