Ice Buster Tournament

The tournament committee wishes to thank ALL teams and ALL volunteers for making this years Ice Buster an event to remember. We had many last minute challenges to overcome. A great many of you stepped up to the plate and rolled with the schedule changes and last minute glitches to ensure that every participant had a fun time. Thanks to the new managers and first time volunteers who stepped out of your comfort zone and offered to do what ever was required to get the job done.
While it's been a team effort all along a few people have to be singled out for going above and beyond...
Heidi Glueck : our tournament director,rink manager for Castledowns and chief host.
Our Rink Managers: Brenda Davidson at Clareview, Al Plandowski at Glengarry, Jon Perri at Londonderry, and Kelland Kotyk at Grand Trunk
Melanie Perri : was our organizer extraordinary....arranged our raffle and 50/50 licences, organized our team packages, covered as a rink manager and many other tasks that would have fallen through the cracks if we didn't have her eye for detail.
Hawks Atom team NW 270 led by Laureen Coulter and Sandra Herard who managed our raffle table through out the tournament.
Jason Ikert : who spent countless hours building and rebuilding our schedule and is our excel master..
Rob Wediemann : who put together our brochure and program and marketing materials.
Jon Penner : our Initiation Director who helped me organize the first ever involvement of our Initiation kids in the Ice Buster.
Shayfer Glueck : who helped his mom at Castledowns and filled numerous spots as required.
Will Sanderson and Bruce Howlett: who helped with medal presentations and helped me provide executive back up at our rinks
to our rink managers.
Audrey and Ameen Kadri of Powerplay Sports : who put together and created our T- shirts, medals, trophies and Heart and Hustle awards
Brent Frew of the Edmonton Oil Kings : who built our partnership and continues to create minor hockey programs that put the fun back into hockey..
Glenn Rossman : who stood up for ALL the kids who were pulled from the tournament at the last minute, and helped with our set up of the arenas.
Last but nor least : Frances Sharon, who made my own volunteer efforts possible by carting our two boys from arena to arena while I was MIA working for all of the above.....
It's been an honour for me to work with this team and all the rest of you.
